This was always going to be a tough fixture. it's a hard place to visit as others have found out this season.To say the pitch was less than playable is a massive understatement it was absolutely atrocious but on the game went.

Newtowne knew what was needed from the start if we were going to get 3 points.100% commitment and nothing less if they were to keep this great run going.this pitch was always going to test peoples characters and today we passed with flying colours. The game its self opened pretty even for the 15 to 20 min mark.Both sides trying to cope best they could with the conditions.Any attacking that did occur came from Newtowne.

The 1 st real opportunity fell to Gazza Moore who with a great touch was then unlucky to see his effort just go over the bar.Then it was andy ferris turn,a great ball into the box from harkin ,andy rise well only to see his header drift wide.The rest of the half continued with Newtowne trying there best to create chances with the very busy logue,johnstone,mc sparron and harkin helping ferris and moore at every opportunity.

The 2 nd half started with park getting out of the traps the quickest a couple of half chances fell there way but nothing clear cut.The back four were outstanding.O'Reilly as ever very solid and committed a real leader,morrison on the other side had a very solid game also attacking at every chance. Mullan and o,hara were excellent throughout in total control. On the hour mark the breakthrough came after good work by McSparron and Ferris allowed ferris through, when his shot was saved the ball fell to Gazza who made no mistake from 6yards.Newtowne then stepped it up a gear. The midfield and forward men worked extremely hard and never gave up on anything.With the game entering the last 15mins a nasty incident happened in an otherwise fair game .Newtowne captain O'Reilly being deliberately elbowed in the face. A DISGRACEFUL ATTACK.With the ref not seeing it the player in question then got away with a yellow card. Having said that john crossan the ref had a great game otherwise.

Entering the last 10mins a long ball from mullan found mc,sparron who with his 1 st attempt at goal hit his marker but when it returned to him he made no mistake from 20yards with a great finish.Then right at the end a cross from morrison deceived everyone including the park keeper to end the game on a high. Overall a great team performance from everyone of the 14, any questions about heart and desire were truly answered to-day
