2006/2007 saw new hands at the helm, Marty Holland and Mickey Burns took over. Success was in abundance during the season. The club won the City Cup for a second time and also the North West Junior Cup. Mickey Walsh's cheeky penalty ensured victory against Clifton Villa in a pemalty shoot out. Newtowne proved to string for Maghera in the City Cup final. Heartbreak in the last game of the season as BBOB beat Newtowne in the last game to win the league.
In the 2007/2008 Newtowne won the Premier league, a feat the club always felt destined to achieve. The Sentinel Cup was won under lights at Limavady Showgrounds. Mickey Dillon scored the winner against BBOB. At the same venue Newtowne failed to retain the Matt Morrison Cup losing to Coleraine Crusaders. The Reserves lost the Supplementary Cup final but were moved into Division 1.
