Lincoln Courts did change things at half time.
Stephen Mooney came on up front while Adams dropped to the
right side of midfield. A change of personnel which Courts’
manager Wayne Glenn modestly described as a “Masterstroke”.
Lincoln Courts started the second half well, in the 50th
minute Ferguson watched his effort hit the crossbar. The chance
was the result of good combination play between Adams and
Godfrey.
Two
minutes later came the decisive moment of the final. Patterson
gathered the ball in midfield and ran past two BBOB players,
he found Godfrey unmarked with a pinpoint pass. Godfrey kept
his composure to shoot the ball under the arms of Pomeros
in the BBOB net.During the following ten minutes Lincoln Courts
had two chances to increase their lead. Both chances fell
to Godfrey and both were set up by Adams. One hit the post
and the other went narrowly wide. Lincoln Courts held a high
line in defence allowing the midfield to support the forwards.
