Home nerves were settled through the last of the mohicans Mickey Walsh. He scrambled home a Harkin cross.
Newtowne played good football in the first half. Corner backs Mark Magee and Rory O' Reilly were exceptional. Harkin was involved in most good Newtowne work as was Walsh.
Conor O'Hara finished well to make it 3-1. Loughery scored a great goal to make it 4-1, a powerful drive from well outside the box. The siege on the Dergview continued despite a torrential downpour. Mickey Walsh scored his second after rounding Christopher Barclay in the Dergview goal.

Overall Newtowne Newtowne dealt comfortably with a very young Dergview side. In the first half the passing was very good and a string of scoring chances were fashioned. The second half was not as good but the home side were always in control.
